International Trademark Association (INTA)
Paid fall internship

The International Trademark Association (INTA) is looking for a bright, driven and creative college student to join the communications team. The intern will assist with INTA’s consumer awareness campaign, the Unreal Campaign (www.unrealcampaign.com). The campaign aims to educate teenagers about the dangers of counterfeit goods and the important role that trademarks play in their everyday lives. This part-time position (15 – 28 hours / week) is ideal for a student pursuing a career in public relations, marketing and / or communications. This is a great opportunity to work on an exciting grassroots consumer awareness initiative and gain valuable works experience from working closely with communications and legal professionals in a non-profit, cause-driven organization.

Summary of Position:

In addition to its website and educational program, the Unreal Campaign uses social media, media partnerships, advertisements, and a video blog to engage the teen audience. The position entails executing the campaign’s social media strategy to grow the campaign’s online audience, reviewing partnership opportunities, maintaining the website, and assisting in the organization of student engagement events. The right candidate will have experience using social media, preferably in a professional setting, and strong research, writing and project management skills.

Primary Tasks Include:

· Developing and executing the Unreal Campaign social media strategy, including creating and scheduling engaging content across multiple social networks

· Researching new partnership opportunities for the campaign

· Providing administrative support to the Unreal team

· Contributing to a social media editorial calendar

Sacred Heart Academy, a not-for-profit, specialized secondary school located in Hempstead, NY has an opening for a marketing and communications intern for the fall ’17 semester. Fresh Air Fund
Communications Fall Internship

Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has unlocked the limitless potential of more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities. Each year, thousands of children enjoy outdoor summer adventures through visits with volunteer host families along the East Coast and Southern Canada and at The Fund’s five overnight camps in Fishkill, NY. Fresh Air children also participate in year-round leadership and academic enrichment programs.

The Fresh Air Fund is seeking talented and passionate interns to assist the Communications department’s staff from mid-September through December 2017. The hours are 9:00 am—5:00 pm, and require a two – three days/ week commitment.

The Communications Fall Internship is focused on helping to increase brand awareness for The Fresh Air Fund’s programs. The intern will get an interactive, hands-on experience in the nonprofit communications field, including media relations, publicity, and social media.

Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation
PR/Marketing Fall 2017 Intern

The mission of the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation (LIAF) and its Memory Fitness Center services is to improve the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia and their caregivers. LIAF, located in Port Washington, has extended its Memory Fitness Center services to more individuals and families in the community through partnerships with Amber Court Assisted Living in Westbury and at Maple Point Assisted Living in Rockville Centre.

LIAF was founded in Port Washington in 1988. Its new Memory Fitness Center provides resources, programs and support from pre-diagnosis through end-of-life for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their families, throughout Long Island and Queens County. LIAF’s approach is unique. Some organizations provide services for one or two stages, however they rarely provide support throughout the entire disease process. The availability of quality care across the stages is highly beneficial for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. It provides for an easy and smooth transition foregoing the need for families to research, find and adjust to new organizations, facilities and staff as the disease progresses and the individual’s care needs evolve and become more complex. LIAF is there for Alzheimer’s families every step of the way on their Alzheimer’s journey.

The LIAF Internship program provides students a special opportunity to develop their marketing skills and to support the important mission of LIAF. Interns are encouraged to effectively use their talents and the knowledge gained in their classes to enhance the LIAF brand and to promote, market and attract attention to the Foundation and the need for quality cognitive programs for a growing number of individuals facing Alzheimer’s and related dementias on Long Island. Communications & Political Science Internship Program

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone’s Communications Department is looking for motivated, hardworking and goal-oriented students who are currently enrolled in college and are pursuing a major or highly interested in the communications or political science fields.

Students will work extensively with members of the County’s Communications Department to complete a variety of daily tasks and long-term projects.  An internship with the Suffolk County Executive is a competitive position as the department’s internship program is designed to expose prospective interns to the real world applications of strategic communications and government relations while enhancing a variety of skills.
